The Soulard School’s TUITION-FREE kindergarten - 5th grade program is open to all residents of St. Louis City.
We are fully enrolled for the 2025-26 school year, but continue to add to our waitlist at each grade level.

The Soulard School is utilizing SchoolAppSTL.org for new elementary admissions.
APPLICATION FOR 2026-27 OPENS 10/1/25, with first round lottery occurring 3/1/26.

Elementary Admissions Checklist
Join a group tour or attend Open House. Tours are not required but highly recommended to learn more about our school.
Complete the application for 2026-27 enrollment in SchoolAppSTL.org and select The Soulard School as a top choice.
Applicants for Kindergarten 2026-27 must be 5 years old by August 1, 2026.
Applicants must be residents of St. Louis City.

Elementary Admissions Timeline for 2026-27 School Year
October 1, 2025 - Admissions period begins - application available online
February 7, 2026 - Pre-K and Elementary Open House
March 1, 2026 - Application deadline for first round lottery for elementary applications
March 3, 2026 - First round lottery conducted
March 9, 2026 – Applicants notified of their admissions status through SchoolAppSTL.
March 15, 2026 – Deadline for accepted families to confirm enrollment. Families must provide additional information and documentation including:
Enrollment forms
Birth certificate
Proof of city residency
Immunization records
March 15, 2026 thru August 2026 – Applicants accepted on a rolling basis

Admissions Preferences
The Soulard School gives equal preference in admissions to students from throughout the City, and does not have a neighborhood catchment area. The school does not give kindergarten preference to students who attended the Soulard Education Center pre-k program. The school does give preference to siblings of enrolled students and children of staff members.
Before & Aftercare
Fee-based before and aftercare is available on-site for elementary students provided by Soulard Education Center, our partner organization. Enrollment information on this program will be provided to families over the summer. See the Out of School Time section of our website for more information, including pricing.
