THE SOULARD SCHOOL’S UNIQUE MODEL IS BUILT ON PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE SCHOOL’S OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT.

We actively involve families to create a shared vision between administration, teachers and parents. Families are encouraged to volunteer three hours every month, assisting the school in projects and activities. This not only allows us to save money that would otherwise be spent on outside services, it also builds community among families as parents work together to serve lunches, weed the garden or offer after school clubs. Our annual Volunteer Rally in September provides parents with the opportunity to sign up for volunteer projects that match their schedule and skills and interests. In recent years, families have collectively logged more than 4,000 hours of service annually.

We value parent involvement in their children’s education. Teachers and administrators share classroom activities and events regularly with families through weekly newsletters as well as individual communications. Trimester parent conferences ensure time is taken by all to check in on student progress. School social events are another facet of parent involvement.

Our active Parent Association and Home Room Coordinators plan events for parents and families throughout the year, including monthly parent coffees, a Back-to-School BBQ and other events designed to build connections within our community and welcome new families.
